Art Retreats 2026 (Italy)

Abstract painting workshops – clarity of process – local experiences
In 2026, I’m hosting a series of five-day abstract painting retreats in Italy, set in the hills of Le Marche, at Chiaraluce Country House, near the Adriatic Sea.

These retreats are designed as focused, studio-led experiences that bring together painting, conversation and time away from daily routines — in a calm, supportive environment.

Italy Art Retreat — May 27 – June 2, 2026

Le Marche · Chiaraluce Country House

A 5-day painting workshop focused on studio practice, mark-making and layering, with time to enjoy local experiences and the beauty of Italy.

They are open to all levels: practicing artists, beginners, and also those who don’t identify as artists but feel drawn to painting as a form of expression.

The retreats are not about learning how to paint in a few days or following fixed formulas. They are about creating the right conditions to work with clarity, listen to your instincts and move your work forward with intention.

Each retreat has its own rhythm, shaped by the group and the work in progress. I will share and demonstrate my own process — including layering techniques, color fields and raw, intuitive marks — as a way of offering visual guidance, not rigid rules.

Chiaraluce is a family-run country house set on a hillside, surrounded by olive groves and open views. With a restaurant, a pool and just six rooms, the atmosphere remains intimate, calm and personal.

The Italian cucina follows the seasons and can accommodate dietary needs with prior notice.
