Art Retreats 2026 (Italy)
In 2026, I’m hosting a series of 5-day abstract painting retreats in Italy, set in the hills of Le Marche, at Chiaraluce Country House (Massignano, near the Adriatic Sea).
After years of painting, exhibiting and working both independently and with galleries — and seeing my work enter collections in over 30 countries — I’ve come to believe that what most artists need isn’t more instruction, but clarity.
These retreats are designed as a focused, immersive experience: studio-style painting sessions, art talks and group discussions, balanced with time to step back — local excursions, beautiful villages and coastal air.
This retreat is not about learning how to paint in five days.
It’s about creating the conditions to understand your own language.
About learning to recognize your instincts.
About seeing patterns in your work — what you return to, what you avoid, what keeps asking for space.
About trusting what already exists within you and allowing it to become clearer.
Through painting, conversation, observation and shared time, we’ll explore what drives your work, what holds it back, and what wants to emerge next. I’ll share insights from my own long-term studio practice.
Five days can’t teach you how to paint.
But they can help you find your voice, strengthen your confidence and reconnect with the reasons you paint at all.
Chiaraluce is a family-run country house set on a hillside, surrounded by olive groves and open views. With a restaurant, a pool and just six rooms, the atmosphere remains intimate, calm and personal.
The Italian cucina follows the seasons and can accommodate dietary needs with prior notice.
